Breeding Rules and Restrictions

Breeding is a subject that deserves its very own page simply because of how complex it can be. The history behind felypti breeding rituals is the same for the river felypti as it is for the desert felypti.

The felypti used to be polygamous, simply to ensure the survival of the species. However, now that their numbers have grown, they are monogamous. They find one mate for life and form family units, often building a sett around their families.

Felypti breed during those specific times of the year known as breeding seasons. Only when a breeding ticket is used do felypti breed out of season. Gestation is about three weeks, and after the 2-5 kits are born, they will stay with their mother for another four weeks before they are separated from her and raised to the proper sale age.

To breed your felypti, there are some rules to consider:

~~ Breeding will not occur between two close relatives.
~~ A female can breed only once every two seasons.
~~ Felypti priests may not breed as they are celibate.
~~ Felypti may only breed if they have names and homes.
~~ The breeding may fail, if your felypti's health stat is not high enough.
~~ You will only receive one free felypti kit and will not be allowed to buy a second unless you hold a breeding ticket.

Elements of the felypti kits are determined by the roll of a die:

~~ To determine rank, 1-4 = the mother's rank and 5 & 6 = the father's rank.
~~ To determine gender, odd = male and even = female.
~~ To determine mutations, 1 & 4 = father's mutation, 2 & 5 = mother's mutation, and 3 & 6 = outside mutation.

The size of the litter is determined by the happiness stat. Please refer to the section on stats for more information on this.

The coloring of the felypti kits is similar to that of the parents.
